Bay trees like moderate moisture, feel the soil to see if its really wet. Allow it to dry between waterings. It might be harder to water in a huge pot so you could consider putting it back into its old pot until it recovers

Maybe you are watering it too much? If it is indoors this could be lack of sunshine - put it outside.

No, you pretty much have to chip cement out with a jack hammer. And, that would definitely destroy the drain.

Unfortunately for you, you've hit the collectibles market at the worst possible time. One of the first markets to suffer in a recession is the luxury items like antiques. Most people don't have much disposable income anymore and they need what they do have to buy necessities and pay their bills. Antiques and collectibles are NOT necessities. You might check with an online antique site such as www.kovels.com and see what the "hot" collectibles are right now. On top of this, the market is flooded with everyone is clearing out their "clutter" to try and scrape a few bucks together. Ebay has virtually put the kibosh on garage sales. Why waste expensive gas driving around to sales when you can shop online and have it delivered to your residence? I can tell you that even fifteen years ago I used to spend all weekend going around to garage and tag sales. The last few years I haven't been to any! Other than that, you may just be stuck with a houseful of things nobody wants right now. You might want to wait a while and see if the economy recovers, then try to have your sale. Good luck - I wish I had better news for you.

If estate auction services aren't working for you, you may want to consider local classified ads like Craigslist. It may also be helpful to use Recycler, Pennysaver or other local classified ads. Wishing you the best of luck!

It's a hard question to answer without knowing more details.

It's going to depend on:
+ How much electricity costs where you are
+ How big your piece is
+ What temperature (cone) you're going to fire your piece at
+ What kind of kiln the studio will let you use (if you can find one who will let you use it)
+ How much they want to charge for this.

You're going to need to rent the whole kiln for the firing, since it's unlikely that they will fire other pieces in there, especially if you didn't get your clay from them.

If you're near Philly, The Ceramic Shop charges between $25-75 / firing.
